Everyday, I will fully utilize my lunch hour to cook or do some house chores. After fetching small E, we will go home first while waiting for big E to finish her school.
I don't know what you call this but I called it 'Pearl Bean'. The beans will turn soft pretty fast and the soup texture is a little bit creamy.
**Pearl Bean

Throw everything inside the inner pot. Simmer for about 15 minutes...

Meanwhile I will prepare the fish. All I need is just to place the steamer pot on top of the inner pot.Bring the 2 pots and place inside the thermal cooker to cook. By the time I come back from work with the kids, everything is ready. Quickly go and take my shower while leaving the kids to watch tv. After that, we will have our dinner together.
That's a life of a full time working mom (FTWM). It may sounds boring, but that's how I live my life to the fullest with no regrets. If I feel tired, all I need is to take a break.

Very good dy...
ReplyDeleteYou are super good. I don't cook on weekdays. I only cook on weekends. A bit lucky, I have a MIL who cooks for us on weekdays. I just pack the dinner from her place and back home after work.
ReplyDeleteI salute you!! You are really a very capable mummy. You can do so many things during your lunch time! Yes, it's not easy to be a FTWM and to take care of two big babies at home. I also have the same problem of my lil one not eating greens :(. I like the way you call your kids, Big E and small E ^__^. Your 'pearl beans' looks so nice!

ReplyDeleteYou can just throw in the beans but I ve added lotus root, some red dates and mulberries to enhance the taste. Yupp...the hot soup will actually help to steam the fish. Yes, taste exactly like steam fish in normal fire.
You are really a super mum! How I wish my office is near my house too.
ReplyDeleteI had my share of being busy as a bee when my daughter was growing up. Not only the managing of home but the driving around for tuition, church etc etc. Now that she is already grown up, its slightly easier.
ReplyDeleteHowever being married to someone who is committed to his job, back to managing home affairs with practically everything.
I have seen the beans but have not cooked it before. I think after seeing your sharing, I have more courage to give it a try and thanks for that.
U r a good mum. At least u still think of home cooked food even u r busy. Home cooked food are healthier for kids. Keep up your good work !
