Ling Cooks : Honey Lemon Chicken Drumsticks (Bill Granger)

Cook Like a Star for the month of Nov to Dec 2013, we shall be cooking Bill Granger's recipes. I have seen there are many awesome and delicious recipes cooked by Bill and I am always hunting for one that called for minimum ingredient and of course fast and simple method to go with.

Here you are, I am cooking Bill Granger's Honey Lemon Chicken. His original recipe was using chicken wings but I had to go for the drumsticks since the kids were around the weekend to have dinner with me.

Simple ingredients needed

Recipe : Honey Lemon Chicken Drumsticks **sourced from LifestyleFood - Bill Granger

Ingredients:
6 chicken drumsticks
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
lemon juice (from one lemon)
5 garlic cloves, chopped
90g honey
lemon wedges (i omitted)

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC

2. Place the chicken drumsticks in a baking dish, sprinkle with the salt then roast for 30 minutes.

3. Place the lemon juice, garlic and honey in a small bowl and stir until the honey has dissolved.

4.Using a brush to brush the chicken drumsticks with the honey mixture. (You can omit this step as I just want to ensure each drumstick is well coated)

5.Pour the mixture over the chicken drumsticks and stir until well coated.

6. Cook for another 20 minutes.

**I brush some honey to the chicken drumstick for a final touch and roast for another 3 mins to get the sticky texture before it is removed out from the oven.

Serve with lemon wedges.

Brush the chicken drumsticks with the honey mixture. (you can omit this step)

Pour the mixture over the chicken drumsticks and stir until well coated

Big E was quite skeptical to try when she heard I have included lemon in the chicken. I tried convincing her to have one bite and assuring her is good and the lemony taste is relatively mild. The first bite already manage to win the taste bud of this little picky eater and she was happily finishing one drumstick by herself and requested for another one.

I am submitting this to the "Cook Like Bill Granger" event , hosted by Zoe of Bake for Happy Kids, Baby Sumo of Eat Your Heart Out and Mich of Piece of Cake.

To join, simply cook or bake any recipe from any Bill Granger websites or cookbooks for the whole month of November and December 2013.

BON APPETITE!

    1. That's why my fridge always have lemon inside. it comes handy when you have limited spices to work with the chicken.. Garlic and lemon can also make you a nice roasted chicken.

  15. A stupid question: Preheat oven means need how long before we put the food into it?

    1. Hahha...no worries I have that same question back then.

For me..I preheat the oven 10 mins before I have the stuff going inside (till date I still don't know if there is a specific time for doing that)
